History

Formerly, the valley of the Corb River was home to 52 flour mills. At Cal Bovera, our ancestors lived as hermits in the Bovera from 1868 until 1932. In 1932, the family moved to the current Balcells house, located on the road to Guimerà. The house still conserves remains of the beams in the storehouse roof, the cellar and the barnyard that are a testament to this era.

We have preserved the name Cal Bovera in honour of our ancestors, who kept the house and lived as hermits in Bovera.
