I have always thought that childhood experiences are still very present in our adult lives. To this day, I have fond memories of Cal Miqueló with my godfather Josep and my godmother Manuela. The kitchen with the large fire pit, the small kitchen in the middle of the room, the pantry full of conserves, the table with that drawer full of things that I was always poking into with the utmost curiosity: lighters, packets of tobacco, thimbles... I also remember the walls darkened from smoke, the enormous radio blaring and the clock striking each hour, the dining table with the glasses decorated in coloured circles, the watermelon seed soup. My great-grandmother Rosa, dressed all in black, sitting stooped over in a corner of the kitchen sewing, or peeling almonds in September, one by one. These are just some of the scenes that make up the tapestry of my childhood, which has formed my way of seeing and understanding the world. Probably for this reason, I always wished I could recover the house of Cal Miqueló, which had lain empty since the passing of my godfather Josep. This has therefore been a very personal project for me, with much love for my family and my childhood memories. It gives us great pleasure to see the house completely restored with all the elements that define it as the place where many generations have lived, cried, laughed... with parents, children and grandparents full of love and the house as an ever-present witness. Today, we hope more families and groups of friends will continue to create good memories between these four walls full of history and stories.
Finally, I would like to thank my family, whose love and generosity have always given me, and continue to give me, the force and the courage to make my way in life.
